Crafts by Cassie: Washer Bracelet

I'm sure many of you have spare tools and parts laying around your house from

random "Fix-it" projects. Now, you can turn those odds and ends into beautiful

crafts that your friends and family will love!

Washer Bracelet

What you will need: 

Washers (I suggest the lightest weight ones you can find), superglue, thin ribbon, and scissors.

Steps:

Step One: Cut a piece of your ribbon to about 6 inches in length. 

Step Two: Put a dab of superglue on the face of the washer and apply the start of the ribbon to it.

Apply pressure for a few seconds for a solid hold.

Step Three: Start wrapping the ribbon around the washer, applying dabs of glue where needed.

Step Four: Once you have covered the washer in ribbon, place one last dab of glue on the washer, apply the ribbon and hold it, then cut off the excess ribbon.

Step Five: Repeat this process until you have enough washers covered. I have a wide wrist so I used

seven washers, but this many may not be necessary for the average wrist. 

Braiding:

The technique I used to braid the bracelet with the washers can be a little complicated,

but is a great technique to keep the washers in place. The best explanation I have found was 

borrowed from Megan at Nestled. She used it to made a necklace, but the same steps are used to

make the bracelet.

The finished product can be tied around your wrist or a clasp can be added to the ends. Make sure you use ribbon you love, and feel free to change up the color and pattern of the washers! Make it your own and share with your friends. This projects makes a great gift for others!
